The city has tried for years to develop the 700 and 800 blocks of the K Street mall, but officials are hoping for a better outcome this time around.
Beth Tincher is with the city’s economic development department. She says all four development teams are “very strong," and she’s excited about the projects.
Tincher: “Many of them include not only retail but also housing development as well as office. And they’re all bringing kind of unique uses to the site that will help attract activity and people to downtown.”
One project would focus on just the 700 block. The other three would revamp both blocks.
The four development teams will present their proposals at an open house next Monday evening at City Hall.
