Bob Serrabo was one of the residents urging council members to reject the project. He says…what’s at stake is open space and the neighborhood’s scenic greenbelt park.
“That will all pretty much be destroyed with large equipment moving soil here to change that area and it’ll be a substantial change to it. And many trees will come out.”
But Developer David Taormino told council members the greenbelt will be completely restored.
“We recognize the neighbors’ legitimate concerns about the reinstallation of landscaping on a fast-track. So essentially in 10 weeks start to finish it’s going to be re-landscaped.”
Council members voted three-to-two in favor of the project. Construction is set to begin in June.
