Storms Disrupt Spring Weather

“We just have a return to winter during spring break. So it should be off and on rain throughout the work week.”
That’s Johnnie Powell – a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says a system coming in from the Pacific today will bring about a quarter-of-an-inch of rain to the Sacramento area over the week.
“So not much rain in the valley, a little wind, because this one’s more of a mountain system. But the mountains should see a couple feet of snow.”
The snow level will be around four-thousand feet. Forecasters have issued a “blizzard watch” for the Tahoe Basin throughout the day tomorrow. Meanwhile, Powell says so far, the Sacramento area is about 90-percent of normal for precipitation this year.
