Caltrans is shutting down a section of the freeway so that crews can work on building a pedestrian-and-bicycle overcrossing near Watt Avenue.
Rochelle Jenkins with Caltrans says they’re replacing the Manlove Overcrossing...and making it more accessible for people with disabilities.
“The incline and decline for these overcrossings are a bit steep. So we’re going to get those back down to more appropriate standards. As we’ve gone over the years we’ve become more aware of the need to make sure everybody has access.”
The closure will be from 11 PM tonight until 5 AM Thursday. It’ll impact eastbound lanes of Highway 50…between Watt Avenue and Bradshaw Road.
Caltrans is setting up a detour. Motorists will have to take the southbound Watt exit, turn left onto Folsom Boulevard and then right onto Bradshaw Road…back to Highway 50.
