The complex numbers-crunching takes into consideration the university’s $600 million in spending, along with the spending of its 29,200 students and the 9,000 employees.

Sac State also generates about $120 million in local and state taxes, from selling books at the bookstore to meals at the Student Union. The CSU system overall has an economic impact of $17 billion in the Golden State, and its graduates increase their income by more than 30 percent with their college degree.
