Measure R allows voters to continue to have the final say on whether land in the city can be converted from agricultural to urban use. Measure R is an extension of Measure J, which Davis voters approved in 2000. It was set to expire at the end of this year, but will now be in place for another decade.
Davis residents also approved Measure Q, which will extend a half cent sales tax through 2016. The tax will bring in about three million dollars a year for city services, including fire and police.
