Mexicana Suspends Local Service

The financially-troubled airline is suspending service in Sacramento and other cities.

Karen Doron is with Sacramento International Airport:

“It’s recommended that customers work with Mexicana to either rebook on another flight or another airline and/or Mexicana has indicated that there is a process where they can fill out a form to request a refund.”

Doron says the airline is suspending flights through the end of August. Airline officials say they’re in the process of reorganizing.

Mexicana is the only airline that offers direct service from Sacramento to Mexico…with flights to Guadalajara and Cabo San Lucas.

Over the weekend, more than 500 pilots and flight attendants held a demonstration at Mexico City’s airport to protest possible layoffs or salary cuts.
