The six-county region has the most photovoltaic capacity
per-capita in the country, easily outpacing the much-larger Bay
Area. Sacramento's solar-kilowatt capacity - basically installed
solar panels - increased to 217 for every 10,000 residents.
That's almost 100 kilowatts more than a few weeks ago.
An independent report compiles data about large solar-panel
projects to much-smaller efforts, and the Sacramento region edged
the second-place Bay Area by 30 kilowatts. It's a big deal,
especially for community leaders and economic officials looking to
attract - and keep - clean-tech companies, while also providing
some bragging rights.
