Curtis Park Village is a housing and retail development that would be built on 72-acres of an old toxic railyard near Sacramento City College. Some residents worried who were about toxic dirt being buried under a proposed park threatened to sue. But developer Paul Petrovich told council member last night…

"If this project does not get sued, there will be no contamination under the park. There will be no contamination anywhere other than the street sections."

Consequently, representatives from the Sierra Curtis Park Neighborhood Association now say they won't file a lawsuit.

Petrovich has already hauled the most toxic soil off-site. Remaining contaminates will be buried 16-feet below the development's main street.
