The five-day event is called "Save the Dream"…where homeowners struggling to pay their mortgages can get free financial advice. The doors opened this morning at 9 o'clock.

"We have 10,000 people already in line on the first day. So if this is any indication, it could be about 50,000 before it's all said and done."

Darren Duarte is with the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, the non-profit group putting on the event.

"One one hand people are desperate to save their homes. But on the other hand people are hoping to save a lot of money."

He says 500 counselors are on-hand to discuss options…from renegotiating loans to mortgage restructuring. Homeowners should bring mortgage statements and property tax bills as well as pay stubs if they're employed.

The event runs around the clock through Tuesday night.
