Christine Grant with the Sacramento Border's on Fair Oaks Boulevard says people were lined-up before 9 o'clock this morning.
"There was a group of probably about 10 people waiting outside for us to open so that they could get their paper all wearing their Giants gear with the sweaters and hats."
Donald Kochis is with the Avid Reader bookstore on Broadway. He says they sold-out of their 15 copies within a half-hour of opening.
"Several people have said that friends from across the country have called and wanted people in California to get them a copy because they collect."
The Chronicle printed up 50,000 extra copies of today's editions. But the paper's Executive Vice-President and Editor Ward Bushee says the demand is greater than expected.
"So we would probably just go back to the presses again and start them up with the same plates on it and print another 30,000 to 35,000 copies to meet the demand."
Meanwhile, the paper is working on a commemorative Giants edition that'll appear in this Sunday's newspaper.
