Harmon Johnson Elementary School sits about a block away from one of the sites on PG&E's list of top 100 highest risk pipelines. The list was released soon after the San Bruno explosion in September.

Trinette Marquis with the Twin Rivers Unified School District says once that list came out, the school board commissioned an engineering firm to conduct a risk analysis.    

"After San Bruno and seeing those images, our board got very concerned. And that's when they started looking into, not only the pipeline that's here, but there is literally a field with an underground natural gas storage area also within about 100 feet of the school."

The school board will hear the findings of that report at a meeting tonight. Marquis says if the board feels there is a risk, the school will be closed and students sent to other campuses.

PG&E officials say recent inspections on gas lines near the school found no safety risks.
