But weather forecasters hope it's not a long term trend…which can happen in years of the La Nina weather system.
"We kind of concerned about that. It is possible to get a mini-drought on January and February and those are our important rainfall-making months so we certainly hope we get some more rain."
George Klein is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says Sacramento ended up getting more than five-and-a-half-inches of rain last month.
"Normal December rainfall is only about 2.76 inches so we are almost double that."
Klein says so far, Sacramento's rainfall-year is 150% of normal.
