Nevada's Republican Governor wants to keep hotel room taxes at their current levels, borrow almost two hundred million dollars from future budgets, consolidate 19 state government departments, and raise tuition at state colleges.
SANDOVAL: "I would also ask, that almost fifteen percent of any increased tuition, be reserved to ensure access for those that need financial aid."
Sandoval also wants to cut the amount of money from slot
machines that goes towards curbing problem gambling. During the
speech, Sandoval also announced that the former head of the
Washington DC school system Michelle Rhee will help shape public
education policy in Nevada.
