Tonight, residents affected by the expansion will have a chance to voice their concerns. Nearly 50 property owners are affected by the project.

Regional Transit is planning to extend its "Blue Line" to Cosumnes River College.

"Which would encroach into their backyards, close to 20-21 ½ feet."

RT project manager Diane Nakano says once the real estate appraisals are completed, the agency will make each property owner an offer.

"And it is a negotiation it's not a take-it-or-leave-it. So if they have improvements in their backyards, they can come back and make a counter offer."

If all goes as planned RT would start construction next year.

Tonight's public meeting will be in the multi-purpose room of Susan B. Anthony Elementary School on Detroit Boulevard. It starts at 6:30.
