Tomorrow, 20 tattoo artists will be tattooing and piercing
from 8 a.m. until midnight. They'll give every cent they
make, including tips, to the UC Davis Children's
Hospital.
Wild Bill Hill is the owner of Wild Bill's Tattoo Shop, and
creator of the tattoo-a-thon. He says the artists plan to tattoo
and pierce more than 100 people in 16 hours. And it's pretty
common for a parent whose child is a patient at UC Davis to get a
tattoo during the event.
"We get a lot of people in [saying] 'I always wanted to
get a tattoo, now seems like a perfect time' and it kind of takes
their mind of their sick child," Hill said. "You know, it's
pretty tough when your babies sick."
Wild Bill says the tattoo-a-thon has raised more than a
hundred and ten thousand dollars for the hospital over the past
nine years.
He says walk-ins are welcome.
