State hydrologists have measured the water content of the Sierra snow pack, using both electronic and manual sensors.  The statewide average is 124 percent of normal for this time of year.  Ted Thomas is with the Department of Water Resources:

"We're in very good shape and we're on track for a good water supply as we approach the peak demand period this summer."

Thomas says the snow is even wetter now than it usually is at the peak of the season April first.  The above average water content comes after three dry years in a row.  The State Water Project currently plans to deliver 60 percent of the water requested by farms, homes and businesses - but Thomas says that may go up.
