Sac Unified's Superintendent Jonathan Raymond says the district is facing a $22 million deficit…unless Governor Jerry Brown's proposed tax extension moves forward.
"If this measure doesn't get on the ballot or is approved then we're looking potentially at making some of these awful, awful cuts. Now, we've also asked our collective bargaining partners for concessions including 5% pay reductions."
The school board has also voted to increase class sizes, eliminate some school transportation programs and cutback on adult education.
