The Sacramento Pipe Band is one of four bagpipe bands marching in tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day parade in Old Sacramento.

Nancy Mallory is coordinating the Parade.  She says there will be 1,000 people marching, including 80 Irish dancers and the Sacramento River Cats.  There will also be horses from the national Pony Express and vintage cars from the California auto museum.

Mallory says the parade used to be on St. Patrick's Day, but organizers moved it to the preceding Saturday in 2009.

"So that way more families can come out and enjoy the parade.  So this is our second time having it on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day," Mallory said.

Bars and restaurants in Old Sacramento will serve traditional St. Patrick's Day food and drinks . . . like corned beef and cabbage, and Irish ales.   The parade starts at one, but there will be entertainment beforehand, including Liam the Irish Piper.
