Storms to Continue Through Week

Brooke Bingaman is a forecaster with the National Weather Service.  She says it will be another wet week in Sacramento.

"So it looks like we're going to continue in this wet weather pattern where every few days we get another storm wave coming into Northern California," Bingaman said.

Bingaman says the next series of storms won't bring high winds like we had over the past weekend.  But trees will continue to fall.

"When the soils are saturated and you get additional rain, the roots just really have nothing to grab onto," Bingaman said.

Pacific Gas and Electric reports nearly seven thousand storm-related power outages around the Sacramento Area.  Most are due to fallen trees and high winds.

The California Highway Patrol reported many accidents over the weekend.  One man was killed on Interstate 80 near Yuba Gap in an accident involving about 40 cars.
