Amelia Richmond is with Squaw Valley Ski Resort. She says Squaw has just passed 600 inches . . . or 50 feet . . . of total snow accumulation this season.
"This is only the third time since 1970 we've hit 50 feet of snow in the season and it's the earliest we've done so since it's not even April," Richmond said.
Richmond says most resorts are on track to set new snow accumulation records this year.
Squaw's record of 662 inches was set in 1995. She says the resort got more than eight feet of snow last week, and expects to get another eight feet of snow this week.
"Which means there's a good chance that we might even break 700 inches, which has never been done on record," she said.
Sierra-at-Tahoe has also gotten more than 600 inches of snow.
Most resorts got around eight feet of new snow during last week's storms. Kirkwood and Northstar-at-Tahoe have announced they'll be extending their season.
Some resorts will be open into May.
