A new survey of the Sacramento area's top 100 employers finds that more than half plan to hire between April and June.
Rick Reed conducted the poll for Pacific Staffing.
"In the next three months, 59% of Sacramento regional employers who were polled say they are planning to hire. 32% of that hiring is motivated, as they described it, by growth, adding to their existing workforce levels. That's the first time that's happened in more than two years."
Reed says nearly 30% of the employers say they'll be hiring for attrition - to replace current jobs during the second-quarter.
Meanwhile, about 40% of the top regional companies surveyed say they are not planning to hire anyone in the next three months.
Of the sectors that are hiring…the poll found that sales and customer service jobs were in the highest demand, followed by computer-oriented technical skills, accounting and product assembly.
