Sacramento's Assistant City Manager John Dangberg has sent a letter to Anaheim city officials asking them to stop negotiations with the Kings.

In the letter, Dangberg says the move could ir-re-parably harm Sacramento if the Kings default on a $73 million loan from the city.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Kings owner Joe Maloof has made his first public comment about his franchise's possible relocation to Anaheim, criticizing Dangberg's letter.

Maloof told the Orange County Register newspaper he wishes Sacramento and Mayor Kevin Johnson would not interfere in his business, saying the team has never missed a payment on its loan.
