A former baseball player and graduate of UC Davis died early Sunday Morning from a head injury he sustained at the end of Picnic Day.

22-year-old Scott Heining reportedly fell at a private house party in downtown Davis, and died later at the UC Davis Medical Center.

The circumstances surrounding his death are still uncertain, but police say alcohol may have played a factor.

UC Davis officials say they received nearly 300 calls for service on campus during Picnic Day.  Many of those were citations and warnings.  Six calls ended with arrests.

The Saturday night, Sunday Morning Davis Police Log shows a long list of citations and arrests on Picnic Day.  The calls involved physical altercations, driving under the influence, noise complaints, and disturbing the peace.  Most were alcohol related.
