A late-spring storm system is making it feel a lot more like mid-winter in the Sacramento area.

"Yeah, it just doesn't end, you know. We're normally getting into our summer mode here but not yet."

George Cline is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He points out the rain, hail, cool temperatures and…in the mountains, snow…are all pretty unusual for this time of year.

So far this month, the city has received about 62-hundredths-of-an-inch-of-rain. Normal rainfall for the month of May is .60 inches.

Sacramento's rainfall total is now running 116% of normal. And on Sunday, Sacramento's high temperature of 53-degrees broke the old record of 58-degrees set 100-years-ago.

Although it's been a very wet year, Cline says we haven't broken any records for rainfall.

"For the season since July 1st we've got 22.91 inches. We're nowhere close to the top 15. The number 15 all-time wet season is 27.70."

That was set back in 1992-93. The number one all-time wettest year was 1982-83 when Sacramento got more than 37.49 inches of rain.
