The World Masters Athletics Championships is expected to bring at least 10,000 athletes and visitors to Sacramento over a dozen days in July.

The track-and-field event features competitors from around the world, age 35 and older.

Sacramento Business Journal Editor Jack Robinson says the Masters is projected to put about $23 million into local cash registers.
