The State Theatre was built along Woodland's Main Street during the heyday of Hollywood, some 75-years ago - complete with a neon art deco sign.
The theatre was closed last year and preservationists are worried it may never reopen.
"We're afraid that The State Theatre, if it doesn't receive funding, could die from benign neglect and conceivably demolition."
David Wilkinson is with the group Friends of the State Theatre. He's pushing for a $2 million renovation of the movie house.
"We see The State Theatre's renovation as a catalyst for bringing in other investment."
…including a new restaurant and bank. The city of Woodland's redevelopment agency will vote on the project tonight.
If approved, the restored theatre would be operated by staff at the Woodland Opera House.
