Among the 14 restrictions on them would be a prohibition of marijuana-laced foods. Patrick Rainwater was one of about seventy people who spoke against the ordinance. He says cannabis is helping him as he cares for his ex-wife, Rhena, who is suffering from cancer and arthritis of the spine.
RAINWATER: "Any medicine that worked at all is extremely addictive and then she built up a tolerance to it. Or the side effects were so bad she couldn't take it at all."
Rhena stood next to him, leaning on a walker. The board asked staff to present two ordinances on July 26th and to be better informed about food preparation, zoning, and possible conflicts with federal law.
