All of the options have a similar downtown district.  Some plans differ in how the districts are drawn.  In two versions, sitting council members could have to run against each other next year.  Overall, Mayor Johnson says he is pleased with the committee's efforts.

"We wanted them to be blind.  This shouldn't be about incumbants. This shouldn't be about elected officials.  If you leave it to incumbants and elected officials, we're all going to make decisions that are in our interests."

Each plan recommends changes to seven neighborhoods. Johnson says one of the most important considerations is keeping communities and neighborhoods together

Members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community, the Latino Community and the African American Community all made their own proposals to the committee before the final four were selected.

The City Council now has until September 7th to choose from those four options, though they may decide to make changes to any option they choose.
