"Operation Full Court Press" is a year-long crackdown on marijuana cultivation on public lands in six Northern California counties.

California Congressman Mike Thompson, who represents the northern coastline, says illegal growers are not only breaking the law - they're hurting the environment and wildlife.

"We've spent so much time and resource in trying to bring back the salmon and steelhead in our area and then you've got illegal growers who are diverting water to water their dope plants and then letting fertilizer and herbicides and insecticides leech back into the tributaries creating just a mess."

So far, state, local and federal officials have seized more than $900 million in pot and arrested 100 people.
