Work crews will install the final meter tomorrow. Since 2001, crews have put in about 16,000 meters. A state mandate requires all cities to be fully metered by 2025.

The project costs nearly $10 million, some of it covered by federal grants. But customers also had to pay a surcharge…up to $7 a month for some ratepayers.

Derrick Whitehead is Roseville's Environmental Utilities Director. He says customers should be happy the project is ending.

"The surcharge is done. We're finishing up the construction so we won't be causing any of our customers anymore problems with doing the installation while it was fairly minimal impact for them. We're not going to be disturbing them anymore. And I think it's just an exciting time to celebrate.

The final meter will be installed at a house on Little Oak Court in North Roseville during a ceremony Tuesday at 11 AM.
