California's Department of Justice agents ran into the seven
men on the grow site near Hood Franklin Road and Interstate 5 in
Sacramento. An agent with DOJ says the men ran as soon as
they saw the agents. DOJ arrested four of the men and called
on Sacramento Sheriffs' deputies to find the other
three.
A search of the property found 1,000 plants, several pounds of
processed marijuana and two shotguns. DOJ believes the
operation was the work of a Mexican drug cartel. As far as
the agents could tell, the grow was not connected with any medical
marijuana dispensary.
