Jamal Buzayan is a retired UC Davis research scientist. He's from Libya and has lived in Davis for the past 37-years.  

"I have a good feeling this is the end of a dictatorship who was controlling the country for 42 years. This shows that there is an end to everything and hopefully this is the beginning of a new Libya."  

Buzayan says he's getting reports from family members still living in Libya.

"Right now we have people in Misrata where Ghadaffi's body was brought and they saw the ambulance that was driven through the streets after they brought him from Sirte…hopefully that will be his final destination."

Buzayan is co-founder of the Children of Libya Aid Foundation. It's a non-profit group that raises money for medical treatment of youth injured in the North African nation since anti-government uprisings began earlier this year.

Buzayen says about 400 Libyan Americans live in Northern California.
