The state Employment Development Department or EDD says hospitals added the most jobs in October. And the occupation with the most job ads was registered nurses, according to Justin Wehner with the EDD.
"Health services experienced an 1,800 job increase which is much larger than its 500 job increase during this time of year. When we look at employers with the most job ads we can see Catholic Healthcare West, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health."
The Sacramento area unemployment rate was flat in October: 11.4%, the same as September.
Wehner says leisure and hospitality led month-over-month job losses. The sector, which includes hotels and restaurants, declined by 3,900 jobs.
