Chris Murphy is with the California Office of Traffic Safety. He says drink coasters and posters with a variety of silly questions on them will start appearing in more than 300 bars and restaurants.
MURPHY: "This campaign uses stupid questions like, 'What's the best way to get better at air guitar?' to highlight the idiocy when someone asks someone if they're okay to drive."
Murphy says more than a million and a half different colored coasters are being sent out to participating bars and restaurants this week. The posters has a place you can use your smart phone to help you locate the nearest cab.
MURPHY: "Really, if you've been asked that question, or you ask somebody that question, 'Are you okay to drive' the answer is almost always, no they're not okay."
The R.U.O.K program starts today, as does the state's traditional holiday DUI crackdown. More than 150 DUI checkpoints will be performed within the next two weeks.
