When Governor Jerry Brown was sworn in earlier this year,
California had a $25 billion deficit. Brown promised to
balance the budget with a mix of spending cuts and tax extensions,
but things didn't work out as he planned. We listen back now
to the year that was at the State Capitol - a year dominated not by
"jobs, jobs, jobs" but by "budget, budget, budget."
