Huff calls the transition from Dutton to himself…

Huff: "…more like a baton being handed off.  I think you'll see pretty much a continuum."

Huff says Senate Republicans will fight to create jobs and make state government smaller and more responsive.  He also says Republicans will continue to oppose new taxes - but he's willing to work with Democrats to balance the budget in other ways.

Huff: "We were selected by the 931,000 residents in our districts also to represent us.  But it's amazing that up here somehow our voices don't count for anything cause we're not part of the majority.  We're certainly a part of the fabric of the state of California.  And our solutions should be a part of those applied to help get us out of the problem we're in."

Unlike Dutton, Huff participated in budget talks last year with Governor Jerry Brown.
