The Mainstream Energy building covers 63,000 square feet and will be used by 65 employees to assemble products, take orders and install solar projects.
Lee Johnson is Mainstream Energy CEO. He says the City of Sacramento was instrumental in getting the project completed.
JOHNSON: "They've been helpful as far as permitting and those kinds of things and when we had questions about processes, procedures, those kind of things, they were very supportive."
Johnson says he saw a drop in business in 2011 compared to 2010. But, he says this year, business is already ahead of projections. He says 20 more employees will be hired by the end of the year.
Mainstream Energy is based in California and ships solar products all over the country.
