Two years after reducing services, cutting staff and renegotiating labor contracts, RT officials say they now have a $5 million surplus.

"And so now it's time to really start looking at expanding our services."

Mike Wiley is RT's CEO and General Manager. He says the agency wants to hear passenger's opinions about where the money should be spent.

"What we're looking at is not necessarily just adding back those services that were cut because we want to make sure that as we add service back it's cost-effective and serves as many people as possible."

Regional Transit is holding a public meeting on the issue tonight at 6 PM. It'll be at the RT auditorium at 29th and N Streets.

The agency's board is expected to make a final decision on expanded services next month.
