Nine acres of undeveloped land in Sacramento County is scheduled for a facelift thanks to a large grant. The Sunrise Recreation and Park District says the Arcade Creek Park Reserve needs to be cleaned up and spruced up.
Jill Ritzman with the district says an award of $3 million in bond money from a state parks agency should do the trick.
RITZMAN: "So, we're looking at trails, exercise stations, a playground for children that is in keeping with the character of Arcade Creek. So, it will be more like climbing ropes and large rocks for them to explore and climb on."
Ritzman says thousands of people who live near the Greenback and Sunrise areas currently have limited access to the creek.
The work on the property should take about two years to complete.
