The museum will offer nearly 20 classes this summer. Most are five sessions held within a week, or a month's time. There are classes for teenagers, middle schoolers, experienced artists and beginners. The museum's Stacey Shellnut Hendrick says there are even classes for parents and their toddlers.
SHELLNUT HENDRICK: "It has music and a lot of play and fun activities that are actually appropriate for kids 36 months and younger. And then we offer this program call 'Wee Wednesday' for children ages 3-to-5. We explore a different work of art in the gallery. We sing songs, we read books."
The museum will host a different event every Friday for parents and kids to explore their artistic sides together. And there is at least one class planned specifically for the developmentally disabled.
