So says a group of technology entrepreneurs who are putting on a "hackathon" next month.

Sacramento Business Journal Editor Jack Robinson says organizers describe it as "speed-dating for software developers."

"They're hoping for 100 or so folks to show up, from programmers to app designers to people with tech business savvy and the idea is they'll form teams, and come up with ideas, work with a business model and even create the product - all there in 30 hours of nonstop work."

"Hackathons" are standard practice in the Silicon Valley. Organizers say Sacramento needs more tech companies that could help boost the local economy.

The event is called "Cereal Hack" - a reference to the stereotype that software developers like to eat breakfast cereal. It'll be held on June 2nd in Downtown Sacramento.
