The Kiwanis Club starts things off with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. in Carmichael Park.
There are a lot of parades. Rancho Cordova has a parade at 10 a.m., with a carnival and concerts through mid day. Arden Arcade's parade starts on Fulton Avenue at 10:30 a.m.. In Tahoe City, there's a boat parade at 1:45 p.m. Davis has softball and concerts at Community Park through the afternoon.
Among the 9:45 pm fireworks shows are events at Cal Expo, Lake Tahoe, and Davis.
Just a reminder: animal control agencies ask you to make special arrangements for your pets by either boarding them or keeping them inside during the fireworks.
