Sacramento County District Attorney Jan Scully filed a civil lawsuit today charging River City Waste Recyclers with what she calls a "smorgasbord" of environmental violations...
"…such as: creating clouds of dust that pollute the air of nearby residents; releasing hazardous wastes into the ground - wastes such as gasoline, diesel fuel oil, cleaning agents and heavy metals..."
River City Waste Recyclers has five sites in Sacramento
County…including facilities on Jackson Road, North B Street and in
Elk Grove and Galt.
This new lawsuit follows a criminal case Scully filed against
the company earlier this year. Five employees…including the two
owners…are accused of accepting stolen metal and wire.
"It's almost like they had a neon sign saying 'bring your
metal and wire theft to us and we will pay you for them.' So they
actually in their own way were aiding and abetting this
enterprise."
Attempts to reach River City Waste Recyclers for comment were
unsuccessful.
