Johnny Powell with the National Weather Service in Sacramento says the hot weather is normal for this time of year…it's just been about three years since we've felt it.
"We're getting hot weather because it's July. Sacramentans have to remember the last two summers have been very mild.
Consecutive hot days have hurt air quality prompting local
officials to declare "Spare the Air" advisories today and tomorrow.
Jamie Arno is with the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality
Management District.
"The biggest thing you can do to improve air quality is
drive less. 70% of our air pollution is caused by vehicle
exhaust.
Meanwhile, weather forecaster Powell says the triple-digit
temperatures will subside in a couple of days.
"Looks like over the weekend, it should be in the mid-90s
as we'll get cooling from the Delta breeze."
