John Pike is no longer employed by the school.  UC Davis is not saying more than that about the former officer, citing a gag order from a judge and employee privacy laws.

Pike was made famous when he pepper-sprayed a group of students protesting tuition hikes on the UC Davis campus in November of last year.

The Police Chief at the time, Annette Spicuzza, was placed on leave and later retired.

Two independent reviews of the incident found school administration and police failed to follow proper procedures and had inadequate communication when responding to campus protests.
