Here in Tampa Republican delegates are hunkering down and bracing for the storm. Rain and wind aside, the Sacramento delegation is happy to volunteer to help out their party.
McGregor Scott is a Sacramento lawyer. The former U-S Attorney was an alternate delegate in 1996 at the San Diego convention so he jumped at the opportunity to celebrate with his party in Tampa.
California isn't in play so the state doesn't get much attention from the presidential candidates accept for fundraising, which is why Scott says the California delegation was pleased to have a briefing from Mitt Romney's camp.
"We did have the opportunity to hear directly from a senior strategist with the Romney Campaign and have the opportunity to view a number on of television ads that are running in the battle ground states. So it was very helpful and informative to us to hear the issues that the campaign is focusing on and the issues that they're spending their money on in the battle ground states."
Monday Sacramento Republicans will likely just stay in their hotel rooms as the storm passes over, but on Tuesday they're eager to get to the convention hall and formally nominate this year's Republican ticket.
