The Governor signed 26 bills in all.
Under one new law, protestors must be at least 300 feet away
from a funeral and on public property.
Governor Brown vetoed similar legislation last year citing a
Supreme Court decision that said the first amendment protects
funeral protests.
But last year's bill was more restrictive and would have
required protestors to be 1000 feet away.
The Governor also vetoed three bills, including one that would
have added a dollar fine to a traffic ticket.
The money raised would have gone to fund a program for spinal
cord injury research at the University of California.
In his veto message, Governor Brown said fines should be based
on reasonable punishment, not paying for more general fund
activities.
