DataQuick says the median sales price of a Sacramento County home in September was $170,000 - up 10.4% from a year ago when the price was $154,000.

"It was the fifth month in a row we've seen that median sale price rise year-over-year."

Andrew LePage is with DataQuick. He says only about 23% of the homes that sold last month were foreclosures.

"…that was down from almost double that a year ago. And then this September had the lowest foreclosure resale level since July 2007. So we're at a more than five-year low for foreclosure re-sales."

LePage also says 1,852 new and existing homes were sold in the area last month. That was down 17% from August but LePage says that's a normal seasonal decline.
