A "yes" vote on Proposition 40 would uphold the state's
current redistricting plan, while a "no" vote means that districts
wil be adjusted by officials supervised for the California Supreme
Court.
However, voters confused by Prop. 40 are likely to vote "no"
when they actually support the measure--as voters often do when a
list of ballot initiaves is overwhelmingly long, or the issues seem
unfamiliar.
